Here is the heater-filter system in use. The intake is on the right and outflow is on the left. Each time the pump is started it must be primed. We do this by connecting a garden hose to a special orifice on the pump and filling the pump and its intake hose with tap water; then the pump is turned on. We have found that it takes about 24 hours to heat the pool from its ambient temperature (close to 55 degrees) to 90+ degrees F.
