Our back yard is sloped and has been terraced to hold the mikveh and yurt. Here you see the outline of the mikveh pool's seashell shape and rectangular bor which have been marked out with stakes and string on the ground. Beyond the pool you see the top of the retaining wall that supports the terrace, and beyond that is a small toolshed off the alley. Note the aspens west of the terrace, which will shade the yurt during summer afternoons when the sun is moving toward the western horizon.
